Busy Weekend

Peeking in through the doors was the best I could get to actually watching Edison at his swim meet. He looked like he was having a great time, however. He swam hard and got many best times! This is his first USA swim meet in a year-and-a-half and he's now swimming 13O with the teenagers!

We were able to visit with Karen and Ivan after the swim meet and it was really wonderful to catch up!

My kids getting to goof around in the Otis mascot is definitely a perk of my job.

Looking ready for Halloween!

Sunday was busy! Swim meet / birthday party / lacrosse practice / lacrosse scrimmage... but we still found time to bring Reed to the pool for open swim with his friends. He was having fun with water polo  today - I can't believe how high he can get out of the water trying to block the ball.

Charlotte's lacrosse scrimmage was at chilly North Creek High school. She played hard, ran like crazy, got a few ground balls and caught some passes. She looked great!

Seeing these two snuggle and read together in Reed's top bunk definitely warms my heart.

Pumpkins and Friends!

Cally and I met up at Bailey's Farm to choose our pumpkins. (Edison was swimming in a "no spectators" swim meet in the same town, so while we missed him, it ended up working out pretty well.) The weather was a surprising 70 degrees. Bailey's was great too - friendly staff and just come and get your pumpkins and take some pictures- that’s about all we need these days. So much fall beauty and a really refreshing afternoon!

Homecoming 2021!

Shorecrest Homecoming made a comeback this year! It looked a little different and a dance was off the table, but we found our hyphiness and school spirit. In addition to my Activity Coordinator / Leadership teacher gig, this year I'm also the Freshmen Class Advisor. It was fun to guide our newest Scots through the week. My four senators worked hard and got their peers involved which resulted in winning three of the competitions and earning second place overall! Unheard of for freshmen! Go class of 2025!

It was fun having two kids on royalty be children of my friends: Cade and Gavin!

We turned our assembly into a video shown in school and a bunch of live performances, etc. at the football game. This led to a really rowdy and electric atmosphere at the football game. It was awesome to be a part of!

Fall Stuff

The kids and I met up with Auntie Karen at Lake Wenatchee after our backpacking trip. Karen was actually out there for a retreat at the Grunewald Guild, so it was perfect timing. It was windy, but the sunshine made up for it! Katie and I went out for wine tasting and a yummy dinner at DeLille Cellars together - super fun! The rest of the pictures show how we're making the best of our time. Reed and I end up with some good afternoon times together while Edison and Charlotte are at swim. Sometimes we read together, sometimes we go to the park, sometimes it is project time. And this year Charlotte participated in 6th grade cross country with Harper. The girls had a lot of fun challenging themselves and in the mini-meet, Charlotte came in as the second fastest girls after Harper and top 5 finisher for all of 6th grade. Wow! Look at those girls go!
