My first hike of the season was a tough one: Dirty Face Peak. It packs 3900' elevation into 9.5 miles. It is a great one to do in early June from the cabin since it sits above Lake Wenatchee. It has spectacular 360 degree views and the lupine and wildflowers were going strong. The views were worth the it and having an engrossing audiobook always helps!

2026 End of Year Senior Events: Grad Walk / Leadership Bonding/ Caen Laida / Graduation
We bid farewell to the class of 2026 and celebrated them through many senior year milestones at the beginning of June. The class of 2026 included some incredibly kind and selfless ASB leaders who really set the tone for what it means to be a leader at Shorecrest. They were role models for commitment to our program goals and always treating one another with care. Through their leadership the ASB program is revitalized and is back to its pre-Covid strength. I will always remember the 2026 ASB Core: Dylan Bautista, Mariam Desta (2027), Eva Cala, and Vivi Hakim. We also start looking to the upcoming year in the spring and I'm excited for what is to come with another strong core group of leaders at the helm!
This was my first year going to the Grad Walk at Kellogg. It was fun to mix it up and to see Reed and his buddies in the hallways.

JUNE: Shorecrest Prom Class of 2026
Prom for 2026 at Pier 66 / Bell Harbor Conference Center was so much fun! And the night was absolutely perfect! Shout out to Gabe and Siri for guiding the senior senators and prom committee through all the steps to get to this point! We have the best staff to chaperone with - they are so much fun!
Charlotte Turns Sixteen!
Charlotte turned 16 on the final day of the state track meet. Fortunately her events were completed and she was able to get to her DMV appointment and get her license on the morning of her birthday! We then drove down to Tacoma to watch Edison in the shot put.
It was fun to plan Charlotte's Sweet Sixteen Birthday Party with her. We rented a loft space that was perfect for the event. We set up a lemonade bar and had a baked potato bar for dinner. She created a lovely photo backdrop wall and planned the activities. It was fun to see her come into her own as a young woman, friend, and hostess.
