Another early wake up for us which enabled us to see a herd of elk grazing between the Lake Lodge and Yellowstone Lake at dawn. Wow!
Our first hike was through West Thumb Geyser Basin which is right on the edge of the lake and in the crips early morning the steam from the springs and geysers was really beautiful.
We then headed south to Grand Teton National Park, stopping first at Colter Bay and doing a two-mile lakeshore loop trail to stretch our legs.
After that, Edison and I climbed up to Grand View Point. Then we headed through the park, stopping at most of the viewpoints and overlooks. We also drove up Signal Mountain Summit Road for an incredible view of the Jackson Hole Valley and the Teton range. We stopped for ice cream at Signal Mountain Lodge (not really a lodge) and savored it at the tiny marina and beach there.
Finally, we headed south into Jackson to restock on groceries and check into the Snow King Ski Resort. It felt amazing to get there and relax at the pool and hot tub and we ended the day playing cards on the patio.
