After finishing the track meet and driver's ed, we re-grouped and had a nice late lunch at the super cute Duck Diner. Then we headed over to Tybee Island to go to see its famous lighthouse and go to the beach. It was our first dip in the Atlantic Ocean in a few years and the water was so warm it was like bathwater. The sand was like sugar. We did a five-mile beach walk and finished it off with delicious virgin pina coladas at the North Beach Bar & Grill. We stopped to check out the pier at the south end of the island before we left. We got to watch the sunset as we headed west back to Savannah over the marshes and back channels of water.
After purchasing a box of chocolates, our final stop was Chippewa Square - the site where the Forest Gump bus stop scenes were filmed. It was a little too dark to get any good pictures, but we ate some chocolates and soaked in the beautiful night and quirkiness around us before heading back to the hotel to shower up and watch a rom-com before bed.
