Final Dual Track Meet, Final Excel Swim Meet, Mother's Day

It was the final dual track meet of the season: Shorewood v. Shorecrest. Edison threw a monster PR in the discus of 156'11" to win the event and also won the shot put. Charlotte also had a PR of 112'6" to win the discus and had a season best time in the 400 meter dash to finish third and she took second in the javelin, showing her diverse skill set. Both of them are well positioned for the post-season which begins this week. More importantly, they are having a lot of fun with their teammates and enjoying the successes they are having after all the work they have put in. As is tradition, the throwers put together a running relay (4x100) and Edison looked pretty fast out there!

Excel club swim season finished up this weekend with a swim meet. I volunteered and helped the starter, it was fun to be back on the pool deck with my swim parent friends and the coaches and reminds me that summer season is just around the corner. Charlotte and Reed swam well and had a lot of fun with their friends! We are so fortunate for the Excel Swim Club to run such an excellent program in our neighborhood. On Saturday night we saw The Little Mermaid Musical at Shorecrest. Edison brought Sadie and Reed brought Adrian. Charlotte was my date. it was incredibly creative and well done. I especially loved the costumes and the humor that some of the actors were able to own on stage. WOW!

Finally, Sunday was Mother's Day and my kids did a great job of making me feel loved and appreciated, from buying my favorite candy and a bouquet of roses to Charlotte's making me a really nice card and a collage post on Insta. They also helped with a ton of yard work and house chores. We started the morning with breakfast at my new favorite spot, Portage Bay Cafe. We also had my family over for the afternoon. Even though not everyone could make it, it was wonderful to gather with everyone who could attend. The special joy being my two little nephews and how my kids interact with them. And I got to spend Mother's Day with my mom who has taught me everything I know about unconditional love and support. I am blessed to have three healthy children and I have worked very hard to raise them the best that I can. I feel like it is paying off and I am so thankful.
