MAY: Shoreline Track Invite, Balsam root Blooms at the Cabin and Teacher Appreciation Week

This past weekend Edison and Charlotte participated in the Shoreline Invitational Track Meet. They did great! I got an up close view volunteering as the person who measures the discus in the field for the girls event in the morning. They both got on the podium in discus which was really awesome! The team putting on the event from the District and also SW and SC track did an incredible job - it was a well run meet and super professional.

I headed out to the cabin that afternoon - I hadn't been there in two months. I had some yardwork to do when I arrived. But I also got to meet up with Amy that evening which was fantastic.

Sunday morning I headed down valley to Peshastin to do a hike called Sauer's Mountain. I was grateful to be able to catch the balsamroot super bloom this season - I also got to see paintbrush, lupine, phlox and peavine mixed into this riot of early season wildflowers! And I ran into one of my favorite people on the trail - Heidi! We had the same idea! LOL! This was my first hike of the season and my legs were feeling it after 6 miles. A good reminder that I have to start training if I want to do the big ones this summer! Hope to see you on the trail!

And this week marks Teacher Appreciation Week at Shorecrest! I received some inspirational and affirming notes from students a lovely orchid from the PTSA! It is wonderful to feel appreciated!
