The adventures of Heidi Rutledge and Johanna continue... 2024 edition. We had an amazing couple days at the cabin - kayaked down the Upper Wenatchee River one day and did a 15-mile hike (with 16 stream crossings) to one of my most favorite places yesterday. (DM me for hike info.) It takes a lot to impress Heidi at this point as she has hiked in so many incredible places, but this valley bursting with a riot of wildflowers and ringed by jagged peaks trimmed by waterfalls did just that! How fortunate are we to frolic in this most stunningly gorgeous valley, even climbing up to a ridge on the far end to reach a glacier! My knee gave out only once - felt like it hyper flexed backward, so I think that is promising. Classic summer days for teachers in the PNW!
